Beskrivelse
Sta. Rita Hills
The region’s unique east-west valley orientation funnels cool ocean air inland, creating a long growing season and naturally low yields. These conditions result in grapes with excellent concentration and purity. The AVA’s marine derived soils, including diatomaceous earth, further define its distinctive terroir. The resulting wines are elegant with beautiful natural acidity.
2024 Vintage
The 2024 growing season began under near-perfect conditions, with a long, cool spring and summer promoting steady, even ripening. A brief heatwave around Labor Day accelerated ripening slightly, but the grapes retained excellent acidity and moderate sugar levels.
Although yields were low, the smaller, more concentrated berries allowed for the crafting of age-worthy wines with exceptional freshness and purity.
Tasting Notes
A mineral driven nose of sandstone, crushed oyster shells, and a hint of lemon zest. Medium bodied with silky texture and just enough density to balance out the acidity. The finish is long and lingering, evoking reflection on the wine’s subtle complexity.
