Fiddlestix Vineyard

The renowned Fiddlestix Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, established in 1998 by celebrated winemaker Kathy Joseph, sits in an ideal location near the Pacific Ocean. This prime position welcomes cool marine breezes and its alluvial soils are perfect for cultivating Chardonnay grapes. Transitioned to organic farming under the guidance of new ownership in 2021, the vineyard has undergone quite the revitalization.

2024 Vintage

The 2024 growing season began under near-perfect conditions, with a long, cool spring and summer promoting steady, even ripening. A brief heatwave around Labor Day accelerated ripening slightly, but the grapes retained excellent acidity and moderate sugar levels.

Although yields were low, the smaller, more concentrated berries allowed for the crafting of age-worthy wines with exceptional freshness and purity.

Tasting Notes

Sourced from a section of own-rooted vines, the 2024 Fiddlestix Vineyard Chardonnay immediately impresses with notes of cirtus oil, white flowers, and flint. The palate is layered and complex, medium to full in body, with a chalky texture shaped by bright acidity that carries through to a long, saline driven finish.
