Beskrivelse
Blue Farm – Founded on Anne Moller-Racke’s 40-plus years of winegrowing in Sonoma, Blue Farm was conceptualized in 2001 during her planting of Anne Katherina, Blue Farm’s first estate vineyard. Blue Farm believes that an intimate understanding and connection to our vineyards is core to making site-specific Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of the highest quality.

Laceroni vineyard is nestled deep in the southwestern part of the Russian River Valley close to the town of Graton. The 45-acre vineyard was planted in the early and mid-2000’s. The cool climate and low pH in the Goldridge soil offer racing acidity that allows this wine to age gracefully. This Chardonnay has it all: good structure, nice fruit profile, great balance and layers.

The Vintage
The 2023 vintage will be remembered for many reasons. It was one of our wettest years in a long time, with over 40 inches of rain here in Carneros. Flowering was one of the latest on record (June 6th), followed by one of the latest harvests. In 2022, we had all of our grapes picked by Sep. 15th, in 2023 we had not even started. Our first lot was the 1861, which came in on September 24th. The first week of October was very busy for us, bringing in fruit from the Estate Anne Katherina Vineyard, Zio Tony Vineyard and Gaps Crown Vineyard. Our fruit was clean and the beautiful slow ripening helped develop delicate layers, soft tannins and intense flavors. Due to the cool weather, the acidity was maintained and added great structure to these delicious wines. 2023 was a year of patience, lots of canopy work, and trust. I am excited to share these wines with you.
