INTRODUCTION
The acquisition of Savoy Vineyard in 2023 marked a pivotal moment for Donum—it was our first acquisition of an established site with a long track record of producing exceptional wines. While Savoy is best known for Pinot Noir, it also includes a small planting of Chardonnay, with vines dating back to the mid-1990s. Anderson Valley yields a distinctive style of Chardonnay, known for its savory character. Our inaugural release from this vineyard in 2023 opens an exciting new chapter for Donum, and we’re thrilled to be working with this remarkable site.
WINEMAKER NOTES
Golden straw in color, the 2023 Savoy Chardonnay offers aromas of apple and white currant, with an intense flintiness. The palate reveals flavors of starfruit and pear, balanced by white pepper and pithy lime. Intensely high-toned, the texture is both lush and structured, reminiscent of just-ripe mango. Drink from 2025-2035.
